Men's and Women's Tennis Teams at UDC, NYIT, and Queens Ranked in First Regional Poll

Indianapolis, Ind. – The NCAA released its first Men's and Women's Tennis regional rankings on Wednesday afternoon and teams from both genders at University of the District of Columbia, New York Institute of Technology, and Queens College were included in the rankings.

On the women's side, ECC Champion NYIT tops the East Region poll. The Bears have continued their great season with an 8-2 record in their spring season. Three of the eight wins have come against nationally ranked squads.

Right behind the Bears at No. 2 is Queens College with a 14-1 record. The Knights boast a 4-0 record this spring and their only loss of the year came in the fall at the hands of NYIT in the ECC Championship final.

UDC wraps up the ECC representation in the women's rankings, coming in at No. 8.
In the men's rankings, the first ECC squad is Queens College. The defending ECC Champions are off to a fast start this spring, posting an 8-2 mark to date with one of the losses coming to a Division I opponent.

Next up at No. 3 is UDC. The Firebirds are 6-2 on the year, but both losses have come against Division I squads.

NYIT ends a run of three straight ECC squads in the rankings at No. 4. The Bears have an 8-7 mark on the season, but take the No. 4 spot due to a 7-2 record against East Region opponents.
