ECC Men's Soccer Championship Gets Underway on Wednesday

West Babylon, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Championship bracket is set with the four teams vying for an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Championship beginning on Wednesday.

St. Thomas Aquinas takes the tournament’s top seed after earning the program’s first-ever ECC Regular Season Champion with a record of 9-3-3 (6-1-2 ECC). The Spartans make their first appearance in the championship since 2018 and are in search of the first ECC title in program history.

No. 4 Bridgeport (5-6-5, 5-2-2 ECC) will take on the top-seeded Spartans in the semifinals. The Purple Knights are back in the championship for the second straight season. Bridgeport looks to end a 20-year championship drought after last claiming an ECC title during the 2001 season.

Bridgeport and St. Thomas Aquinas tied by a score of 1-1 in their regular season meeting on October 23.

The other semifinal will feature No. 2 District of Columbia and No. 3 Molloy. Despite being the lower seed, Molloy will host the match.

UDC (8-5-3, 5-1-3 ECC) earns their second-ever ECC Championship berth and first since the 2017 season when they advanced to the tournament final. Molloy (9-6-3, 5-2-2 ECC) is making a second straight appearance. The Lions are in search of the program’s second ECC title, with the last coming in 2008.

Similar to the other semifinal, Molloy and UDC tied in their regular season meeting on October 23. The final score of that match was 2-2

The semifinals of the tournament will be hosted by the top two seeds and the final will be hosted by the highest remaining seed. Tournament action begins on Wednesday, November 10, and will conclude on Saturday, November 13.

Tickets for each game of the championship can be purchased in advance at www.eccsports.org/tickets. Ticket prices will be $8 for general admission and $4 for senior citizens, students, and children ages 2-5. Children under two will be admitted for free.

General admission ticket prices will increase to $10 beginning at midnight the day of the game. In addition, cash will not be accepted so walkup tickets at the venue still must be purchased through the ECC website (QR code will be available at the gate).

For those not in attendance, all three matches of the championship will be broadcast on the ECC Network. Viewers can tune in at www.eccsportsnetwork.com or by downloading the ECC Network app. To download the app, search "ECC Network" on Apple or Android mobile devices or on Amazon Fire, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku streaming devices.
