Torres Named East Region Player of the Year; 12 Earn All-Region Nods

Gabriel Torres of the University of the District of Columbia has been named the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) East Region Player of the Year and also earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team to lead the way among ECC selections. A total of 11 men's soccer standouts from the East Coast Conference earned a spot on either the United Soccer Coaches (USC) or D2CCA All-Region Teams.

Torres, earns the Region Player of the Year honor after scoring an ECC-leading 20 goals, 12 assists, and 52 points. Torres finished second in the country points, third in points per game (2.36) and goals, and seventh in assists.

Torres is joined by teammate Michael Agboola, as well as Johan Mauritzson, Charlie Ledula, Harry Pearse, and Oliver Hessner Hansen of LIU Post, and Dan Massey of Molloy as consensus All-Region selections.

Mauritzson and Torres were the only student-athletes named to the All-Region First Team on both the United Soccer Coaches and D2CCA lists. Pearse and Ledula were First Team picks by the USC and Second Team selections by the D2CCA. Agboola earned a spot on both lists Second Team, while both Hessner Hansen and Massey appeared on the USC Third Team and the D2CCA Second Team.

Rounding out the selections from the ECC are Lucca Lacerda (USC First Team), Danny Gavin (USC Third Team)  and Jose Caravajal (USC Third Team) of Mercy, Carlos Coto (USC Third Team) of NYIT, and Lukas Ostermann (D2CCA First Team).
