Men's Soccer All-America Recognition Awarded to Four from ECC

LIU Post trio Charlie Ledula, Harry Pearse, and David Arvidsson, and St. Thomas Aquinas' Luis Morales have been selected as Division II Men's Soccer All-Americans. Ledula was the only consenus All-American after being selected to both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Division II Conference Commissioner's Assocation (DIICCA) teams, while Arvidsson, Pearse, and Morales were DIICCA selections.

Ledula, the ECC Offensive Player of the Year, was a Second Team selection in both publications. Ledula led the ECC and ranked 10th in Division II with 18 goals on the season. He also led the league with 42 points. In addition, Ledula was clutch on the season for the Pioneers, ranking third in the country with eight game-winning goals.

Pearse and Arvidsson were both DIICCA First Team picks. Pearse finished with nine goals and 14 assists for 32 points on the year. His assist total led the ECC and ranked fifth in Division II and his point total was good for second in the conference.

Arvidsson, the ECC Defensive Player of the Year, anchored a Pioneers backline that allowed an ECC-low 15 goals on the season and ranked sixth in the nation with a 0.55 shutout percentage.

Morales earns a spot on the DIICCA Second Team after tallying 15 goals on the season. His goal total ranked second behind Ledula in the ECC and ranked 16th nationally. He also ranked in the top-10 in Division II (sixth) with 1.07 goals per game.
