In the opening session, the green and gold netted a pair of goals just six minutes apart, and eventually brought a 2-0 lead into halftime.

In the 23rd minute, junior back Joey Forgaard (Stavanger, Norway) got the scoring started, when he headed home a Matias Ruiz (Southampton, N.Y.) corner kick.

Then, in the 29th minute, the Pioneers were awarded a penalty kick and graduate midfielder Tom Bowen (Aberdovey, Wales, U.K.) converted for the two-goal advantage.

During the latter half, LIU Post had four different players find the back of the net to put the match away for good.

Junior forward Johann Kristjansson (Reykjavik, Iceland), sophomore back Oliver Hollingsaeter (Aslund, Norway), sophomore midfielder Harry Pearse (Berkshire, London, England) and Ruiz accounted for the goals.
