Indianapolis - The LIU Post Pioneers have been selected to take part in the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship for the fifth consecutive season.
The Pioneers will look to defend their East Region title after receiving the No. 2 seed in the bracket. LIU Post enters the tournament after winning their third ECC title in the last four seasons with wins over Bridgeport and NYIT, moving their record to 14-2-2 on the year.
LIU Post will play host to half of the East Region bracket and receive a First Round bye. Their National Championship quest will begin against either No. 3 seed, Adelphi (13-4-3), or No. 6 seed, Wilmington (14-5-0), in the Second Round. The Pioneers have played both of their potential opponents already this season. They began their 2015 campaign with a 2-2 tie against Adelphi and defeated Wilmington in overtime by a final tally of 2-1.
The other half of the East Region field has top seeded Southern New Hampshire hosting No. 4 Merrimack and No. 5 Le Moyne.
