Kansas City, Mo. - LIU Post teammates Eivind
Austboe and Per Forgaard have been named All-Americans by the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Austboe is
a Second Team honoree, while Forgaard is a Third Team selection.
This is the second All-America honor this season for both
student-athletes, after earning recognition from Daktronics/D2CCA,
as well.
Austboe, a two-time ECC Offensive Player of the Year, earns his
second straight NSCAA All-America selection after earning a spot on
the First Team in 2013. In 21 games, he tallied an ECC-leading 17
goals and 38 points. Austboe also ranked in the top-10 in Division
II with 0.89 goals per game.
Forgaard, an ECC All-Conference First Team pick, tallied 25 points
on eight goals and nine assists over 23 games on the season.
Austboe and Forgaard were also the only ECC student-athletes to
earn a spot on the NSCAA All-Region First Team. However, they were
joined by 10 other ECC standouts in earning All-Region laurels.
Second Team All-Region selections include Louis Conner (GK, Dist.
Columbia), Javier Gallardo (D, NYIT), Ivan Rico (M, NYIT) and Alex
Barbosa (F, NYIT).
ECC Defensive Player of the Year, Gonzalo Barroso of NYIT, and ECC
Rookie of the Year, Jason Lampkin of LIU Post, were joined on the
All-Region Third Team by Zachious Ogoo (D, Dowling), Guillermo
Fuentes (M, NYIT), Jose Herrera (M, Dowling), and Felix Angerer (F,
Dist. Columbia).
