Brookville, N.Y. - For the second consecutive
year, LIU Post's Eivind Austboe has been named the
Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association East
Region Men's Soccer Player of the Year. In addition, six other
student-athletes from the East Coast Conference were named to the
two All-Region teams.
Austboe was recently named the ECC Offensive Player of the Year and
Capital One Academic All-American of the Year for the second time
in as many seasons. In his senior campaign, he collected the
ninth-most goals (17) in Division II, along with the 11th-most
points (38).
Austboe was joined on the All-Region First Team by teammate Per
Forgaard and ECC Defensive Player of the Year, Gonzalo Barroso from
NYIT.
Ivan Rico, Javier Gallardo, and Alex Barbosa of NYIT, as well as
ECC Rookie of the Year, Jason Lampkin from LIU Post, were named to
the All-Region Second Team.
