Indianapolis, Ind. – Five days after competing for the ECC Men’s Soccer Championship, the NYIT and LIU Post men’s soccer teams will square off once again in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship.
NYIT, who defeated LIU Post, 1-0, to win their second ECC title in four years, earns the higher seed of the two schools by coming in at No. 4 in the Super Region 1 bracket. The Bears, who currently boast a 14-2-1 record, are in the field of teams vying for a National Championship for the second straight season and third time in four years.
LIU Post, who is now 14-4-1 on the year, is the No. 5 seed. The Pioneers are making their fourth straight appearance in NCAA post-season play.
The two rivals will take the field on the campus of top-seeded and defending National Champion, Southern New Hampshire University. The winner of the first round matchup will advance to play the Penmen in the Second Round.
