Kansas City, Kan. – The LIU Post
men’s soccer team has moved into the No. 1 spot in the latest
National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II
Top 25 poll. This marks the second straight season the Pioneers
have risen atop the national rankings.
Last week, the Pioneers defeated Roberts Wesleyan, 3-0, and
exploded for nine goals in a victory over Daemen, to move their
record to 10-0. They remain one of five teams in Division II with
an unbeaten record joining No. 2 Rollins (10-0), No. 5 Northeastern
State (5-0-2), No. 11 Lewis (7-0-3), and No. 14 Lindenwood (9-0-1).
This is also the third consecutive season that LIU Post has begun
the season with at least 10 consecutive wins.
LIU Post also tops the NSCAA East Region Poll for the fifth
consecutive week. The Pioneers are joined by three other ECC squads
in the East rankings. Mercy is the next ECC school in the rankings
at No. 6 and are followed by NYIT at No. 7. Queens rounds out the
poll and ECC representation at the No. 10 spot.
