Kansas City, Kan. – After their third
straight shutout win to open the season, Mercy College men’s
soccer team has joined the LIU Post Pioneers in the latest NSCAA
Division II Top 25 poll.
LIU Post, also undefeated through the first four games of their
schedule, comes in at No. 2 in the latest poll. This marks the
highest ranking for the Pioneers since they finished the 2012
regular season as the top ranked team in the country. In two games
last week, LIU Post topped then ranked No. 22 Wilmington, 3-1, and
Bloomfield, 2-0.
Mercy moves into the Top 25 for the first time since the second
poll of the 2012 season. The Mavericks come into the poll at No. 24
after defeating Stonehill, 5-0, in their only match last week.
LIU Post also tops the latest NSCAA East Region rankings, with
Mercy close behind at No. 3. Other ECC squads listed in the East
Region poll include NYIT at No. 6, District of Columbia at No. 8,
and Dowling at No. 10.
