Indianapolis – After posting an 18-1-0
record and winning the ECC Championship, the LIU Post Pioneers
earned the No. 1 seed in the East Region for the upcoming NCAA
Division II Men’s Soccer Championship. This marks the second
straight year the Pioneers earned a spot in the field of 35.
Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, LIU Post was unable to
host despite being the top seed. The Pioneers will now head on the
road, traveling to Lowell, Massachusetts. However, as the top seed
LIU Post will have a first round bye and will not take to the pitch
until Sunday, November 11 at 4:00 p.m.
The Pioneers will face the winner of the matchup pitting No. 4
UMass Lowell against No. 5 Post University. LIU Post played each
school earlier this season and came away victorious in both
matchups.
In the other half of the East Region bracket, No. 2 Southern New
Hampshire joins LIU Post with a first round bye. The Penmen will
take on the winner of the game between No. 3 Merrimack and No. 6
Franklin Pierce.
