Post and St. Thomas Aquinas were both ranked in the Top 25 of the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II
Preseason Poll. LIU Post comes in at No. 13 in the poll, while St.
Thomas Aquinas follows at No. 21.
LIU Post was the 2011 ECC Regular Season Champion, posting a
program record 17 wins. The Pioneers finished the season ranked No.
11 in the NSCAA poll after advancing to the second round of the
NCAA Tournament.
St. Thomas Aquinas joined the Pioneers as NCAA Tournament Second
Round participants in their first ever tournament appearance, after
defeating ECC Champion NYIT, 4-1, in a first round matchup. The
Spartans finished the 2011 season with a 11-4-4 overall record.
