Kansas City, Kan. – ECC Men’s
Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, Cemil Turan from C.W. Post,
has been named a NSCAA Third Team All-American.
Turan, a sophomore forward, helped lead the Pioneers to a 17-3-1
record and an ECC Regular Season Championship with an outstanding
offensive campaign. In 20 games on the season, Turan sent home 14
goals and dished off four assists for 32 points. Both his goal and
point total were good for second in the conference. His goal total
also placed him 20th in all of Division II.
Turan was also selected to the NSCAA All-East Region First Team.
Joining Turan on the All-Region First Team is teammate Eirik
Bjornoe, as well as Vinny Caccavale of NYIT and Markus Naglestad of
Bridgeport.
Clayton Ulmer (Bridgeport), Danny Stoker (Queens), Andreas Olson
(C.W. Post), and Matthew DiDonna (NYIT) were Second Team
selections, while Javier Gallardo (NYIT) and Daniel Davren (St.
Thomas Aquinas) made the Third Team.
