Four ECC Schools on First NCAA Men's Soccer Regional Rankings

Indianapolis – Four East Coast Conference men’s soccer squads are among the top ten teams in the East Region in the first NCAA Regional Rankings. C.W. Post tops the list of ECC schools at No. 2, followed by St. Thomas Aquinas (No. 5), Bridgeport (No. 6), and NYIT (No. 7).

C.W. Post, who is also ranked No. 5 in the nation in this week’s NSCAA National Coaches poll, comes in second behind Franklin Pierce despite identical 12-0-1 records at the time of the release.  The Pioneers went 1-0-1 last week, defeating Mercy and tying NYIT. NYIT’s tie against C.W. Post moved their record to 9-2-2 earning them the No. 7 spot in the poll.

St. Thomas Aquinas, with a 8-1-4 record on the season with their only loss coming to C.W. Post,comes in at No. 5. The Spartans went 2-2 last week with victories over Lock Haven and Molloy.

Bridgeport rounds out the ECC representatives at No. 6. The Purple Knights are fresh off their first victory over Dowling College since 1994 with a thrilling 5-4 double overtime win.
