Burnsville, MN - Vladimir Milosavljevic, a
senior on the men's soccer team, has been named a Regional
Scholar-Athlete by the Division II Conference Commissioners
Association (CCA).
The award, sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners
Association, highlights the extraordinary achievements of Division
II student-athletes. Butch Raymond, commissioner of the Northern
Sun Intercollegiate Conference and president of the DII CCA, said
the award showcases the academic and athletic talent at the
Division II level.
“The CCA Scholar-Athlete Awards exemplify the balance between
academics and athletics that is the cornerstone of Division
II,” Raymond said.
The commissioners from each Division II region selected the
regional winners. To be nominated for consideration, a
student-athlete must have attained a 3.0 cumulative grade-point
average and demonstrated outstanding athletic credentials.
Milosavljevic has earned numerous awards for his play on the field
and work in the classroom. Last season, he was named the ECC
Defender of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Conference first
team. Milosavljevic went on to be named to the Daktronics
All-America first team, NSCAA All-America third team, and ESPN
Academic All-District team. He also was the recipient of the
Elite 88 award, an honor bestowed upon the student-athlete with the
highest GPA in their sport at the championship finals site.
A male and female Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be
selected from the 16 regional winners.
