Indianapolis - The Dowling College men’s
soccer team has jumped to the top of the final regular season NCAA
East Region poll released on November 2.
Last week the Golden Lions defeated NYIT 3-1 to wrap up their tenth
straight ECC regular season championship and finish the regular
season with a record of 10-1-4. The win vaulted them up two spots
to No. 1 in the NCAA Regional Poll. St. Thomas Aquinas, which was
ranked No. 6 in last week’s poll, fell out of the
rankings.
Dowling also made a jump in the NSCAA national rankings, jumping
from No. 18 to No. 10.
In the NSCAA East Region Poll, the Golden Lions are the top ranked
ECC institution, coming in at No. 2. Bridgeport and St. Thomas
Aquinas remain on the poll, coming in at No. 9 and No. 10
respectively.
Championship selections will take place November 8 after the
conclusion of conference tournaments this coming weekend.
Selections will be announced at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Monday,
November 8 via a webcast selection show on NCAA.com.
