Kansas City, Mo. - With only one loss on the
season, the Dowling College men’s soccer team has moved up to
No. 18 in the NSCAA national poll.
Dowling, currently in first place in the East Coast Conference with
a record of 9-1-4 overall and 4-0-2 in conference play, moved up
two spots in this week’s poll. The Golden Lions also lead the
way for the East Coast Conference on the NSCAA regional poll, where
Dowling is ranked third this week. St. Thomas Aquinas remains in
the rankings, holding down the No. 6 spot. Bridgeport also
re-enters the poll at No. 9. The Purple Knights are ranked for the
first time since falling out of the poll after the first week of
the season.
Dowling and St. Thomas Aquinas also remain in the NCAA East Region
poll for the fourth consecutive week. Dowling moved up one spot
this week to No. 3, while the Spartans drop one spot to No. 6.
The final regular-season poll will be published November 2 and
championship selections will take place November 8. Selections will
be announced at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Monday, November 8 via a
webcast selection show on NCAA.com.
