Oakdale, NY- Two players from the Dowling
Men's Soccer team have earned All-American honors for the 2008
season. Lamine Traore and Moussa Keita have both been named
to the All-American Third Team by the NSCAA.
In his junior year at Dowling, Moussa Keita has been a staple at
midfield for the Golden Lions, having earned ECC All-Conference
First Team and NCAA Tournament Super Region 4 All-Tournament Team
honors in 2008. Moussa tallied 6 goals and 4 assists on the
season for Dowling as he helped lead them to the National
Championship Final in Tampa.
Also in his junior year, Lamine Traore was the backbone for the
Golden Lions offense this year, leading the nation in goals scored
with 26 while also recording 4 assists for 56 points on the
season. In 2008, Lamine has earned numerous awards and
recognitions this year including ECC Player of the Week 4 times,
All-Tournament NCAA Regionals 1st team, Most Outstanding Offensive
Player during Regionals, Daktronics All-Region 2nd Team, and player
of the week from Big Apple Soccer. During the season, Traore
also held a 9 consecutive-game streak in which he scored 2 goals in
each.
