Old Westbury, N.Y. (Nov. 10, 2008) - The NYIT Men's soccer team has been selected as the recipient of the New York Metro Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NYMISOA) Sportsmanship Award for the 2008 season.

Referees in the New York Metro chapter vote every year on the teams they officiate, looking for fair play, and respect for teammates and opponents, as well as the game itself. NYIT finished the 2008 season with a 7-7-4 record and six student-athletes were selected to the East Coast Conference All-Conference teams.

The team will be honored at the New York Metro Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association's annual Awards dinner on Nov. 18.
