White, Lynott, Seltzer, and MacSpadyen Top List of Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Award Winners

Central Islip, N.Y. -  The East Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse All-Conference teams, as vote on by the league's coaches, were released on Wednesday morning, with four student-athletes headlining the teams. Dowling senior attacker Brian White (Bayport, N.Y.) has been earned the Offensive Player of the Year award, NYIT's Jon Lynott (Massapequa, N.Y.) has been named the Defensive Player of the Year, Lynott's teammate Alex Seltzer (Plainview, N.Y.)  takes home the Goalkeeper of the Year award, and Ryan MacSpadyen (Toronto, Ontario) of Mercy is the Rookie of the Year honoree. Dowling head coach, Tim Boyle, has also been awarded the Coach of the Year honor.

White earns the Offensive Player of the Year honor after leading all of Division II in scoring with 6.14 points per game. The senior also topped all of Division II with 3.29 assists per game. In addition, White leads the ECC in points and assists by an overwhelming margin. His 86 points are 24 more than the runner up and his 46 assists are 20 better than the student-athlete in second place on the leader board. White has also tallied 40 goals on the year, ranking third in the ECC. The three-time ECC Player of the Week, recorded two games of double digit points on the season, including 13 in his season opener that included 11 assists, good for second all-time in Division II, and never scored fewer than three points in any contest.

Lynott, the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, came through on the coaches' pick to win the post-season honor, as well. Lynott anchored a back-line that currently ranks eighth in Division II with a 7.87 goals per game scoring defense . Heading into ECC Championship play, he is third in the conference with 28 caused turnovers, good for 1.87 caused per game which ranks 13th nationally. He has also scooped up 39 ground balls on the year.

Seltzer has been named the top goalkeeper in the ECC for the second time in three seasons. Seltzer, who has posted a 12-3 record between the pipes, can find his name littered about the ECC and Division II leader boards. He tops the conference with the aforementioned 12 wins and 163 saves. He also is second with both a 7.61 goals against average and a .595 save percentage. The goals against average (6th) and save percentage (3rd) also rank in the top 10 nationally.

MacSpadyen earns the Rookie of the Year honor after being the top freshman point scorer in the conference. The four-time ECC Rookie of the Week led Mercy with 41 points on the season, coming on 23 goals and 18 assists. His point total ranks 14th in the conference, while his assist tally is in the top 10, coming in at No. 8.

Dowling's Boyle has been named the Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his tenure. After a down season in 2015, the Golden Lions have bounced back under Boyle's guidance. Dowling finished the regular season with a 10-4 record and earned the No. 3 seed in the ECC Championship with a 6-2 mark in conference play. Boyle also led the Golden Lions to a spot in the USILA Top 20 poll throughout the season, climbing as high as No. 9.

ECC co-champions LIU Post (10 selections) and  NYIT (nine selections) lead the way with the most All-Conference honorees. NYIT is a close second with eight selections, while Dowling has six honorees.
