Perry, N.Y. - After earning the ECC Goalkeeper
of the Week honor earlier in the week, NYIT sophomore goalkeeper,
Alex Seltzer, has been named the United States Intercollegiate
Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Defensive Player of the
Week.
In NYIT's season opening win 14-3 win against Assumption, Seltzer,
the reigning ECC Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Year, stopped 11 of
the 14 shots he faced for a save percentage of .786.
This is the first season the USILA has honored student-athletes
with Division II National Offensive and Defensive Player of
the Week honors. Seltzer thus becomes the first-ever ECC standout
to earn weekly recognition from the USILA.
