Perry, N.Y. – After the first week of
play, the five ECC teams that made the USILA Pre-Season poll remain
amongst the top ranked men's lacrosse teams in the nation.
The Pioneers of LIU Post are the first ECC school listed, remaining
at No. 4. LIU Post opened their 2014 campaign with a 17-5 victory
over St. Anselm. LIU Post looks to retain their ranking when they
take on Mercy College on March 1st.
Next up at No. 11 is Dowling. The Golden Lions move down a spot,
despite defeating Assumption, 12-4, on Saturday afternoon. The
Golden Lions will host conference rival Molloy College, who comes
in at No. 12 in the poll on March 1st.
The Lions remain in the rankings with a 0-0 record after having
their season opener postponed.
NYIT and Chestnut Hill do not begin their seasons as expected, but
remain amongst the top ranked with a 1-2 and 0-1 record
respectively. NYIT falls to No. 13 after beginning the season at
No. 6, while Chestnut Hill remains in the No. 15 position after
