Brookville, N.Y. - The LIU Post and Molloy
lacrosse game had plenty of competition, but also showcased both
teams working together for a common cause. The game was part
of a fundraiser held during the day as both teams supported
“Team Connor”. Connor, the son of Molloy alumna
Beth Kyranakis Bradley, and family friend of LIU Post senior
goalkeeper Tim Bradley, was diagnosed with leukemia on February 10
and is currently undergoing treatment at The Cancer Center for Kids
at Winthrop-University Hospital. Connor attended the game and
served as an honorary team captain, standing at midfield during the
captains meeting and shaking hands with the players post-game. Both
teams wore “Team Connor” jerseys to their post-game
tailgates in support of Connor.
All proceeds from the donations and raffles during the game go
directly to The Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University
Hospital. Both. A private donor agreed to donate $100 for
every goal scored, and neither team disappointed as the 15-11 final
score featured plenty of offensive firepower that added up to a
sizeable donation to The Cancer Center for Kids at
Winthrop-University Hospital.
