Central Islip, N.Y. - The United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced its All-America honors for the 2010 Division II season and the East Coast Conference placed 20 student-athletes among the 38 honored.
NCAA finalists Le Moyne and C.W. Post are represented by three first-team selections each, with attackman Jack Harmatuk, midfielder Matt Chadderdon and defender Drew Bezek earning top honors for the Dolphins and LSM Joseph Blount, face-off specialist Mike Cama and defender Richard Schmidt making first-team for the Pioneers.
Dowling, which fell in the semifinals to C.W. Post, put attackmen John McClure and Kyle O'Brien as well as LSM Joe Biondolillo and defenseman Kyle Rubisch onto the first-team, while other semifinalist Limestone had Mike Poerstel take first-team honors at the midfield.
Matthew Sullivan (attack, NYIT), Joel Zalesky (midfield, Seton Hill) and Cory Spinale (goalie, Merrimack) also earned first-team honors.
The USILA will be announcing its All-America teams and special award winners throughout the week on InsideLacrosse.com. The Division III All-Americans will be announced on Tuesday morning, with the Division II and III special awards announced on Wednesday. Thursday will see the release of the Division I All-America honors, with the Division I special awards announced on Friday.
