Central Islip, N.Y.- C.W. Post claims the top spot on the NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse Central Region Poll, released today.
The Pioneers, who have compiled an overall record of 13-1 this year, upended the previously undefeated Mercyhurst Lakers last weekend to regain possession of first place. The Pioneers suffered their only loss of the year to Dowling College.
The Golden Lions claim the No. 2 spot on the Poll with an overall record of 11-1 this year. Dowling suffered their only loss to Mercyhurst earlier in the season and are currently on a ten game winning streak.
Mercyhurst sits in the third slot after their 11-9 loss to C.W. Post. The Lakers are 12-1 on the season and previously held the No. 1 spot in the Central Region before falling into third.
The New York Institute of Technology Bears, who have played to an 8-4 overall record this year, earn a No. 4 ranking while ECC newcomer Seton Hill rounds out the top five with an overall record of 10-3. The Griffins will play host to #2 Dowling on Saturday.
