Central Islip, N.Y.- Four men’s lacrosse teams from the East Coast Conference continue to be ranked in the latest USILA Division II Coaches poll released on May 3, 2010.
LeMoyne College earned all nine first place votes as they remain the only unbeaten team in Division II. Sitting behind them are C.W. Post and Dowling, in a tie for 2nd place. C.W. Post moved up from the No. 5 spot this week as they topped previously undefeated Mercyhurst, 11-9 in ECC play this past weekend. Mercyhurst dropped into No. 5 with the loss.
NYIT also jumped two spots in the poll as they moved to 8-4 on the season. The Bears now sit at No. 6. Four of the top six teams in Division II are members of the East Coast Conference.
C.W. Post, Mercyhurst and Dowling are all tied for first place in the East Coast Conference. Each team sits at 8-1 in ECC play this year, with Dowling falling to Mercyhurst, C.W. Post falling to Dowling, and Mercyhurst falling to C.W. Post.
All three teams are still vying for a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The selection show will be held on May 9th at 10:00 p.m. ET on CBS College Sports Network.
