Central Islip, NY- The C.W. Post Pioneers edged the LeMoyne College Dolphins by just two votes this week to hold on to the first place spot in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Poll.
The Pioneers earned 6 first-place votes as they remain undefeated at 9-0-0 on the season after defeating Dominican College 10-3 and Southern New Hampshire 11-7 last week. The Dolphins (7-0) claimed the remaining 4 votes to rank in at No. 2.
Mercyhurst, also undefeated, holds the third spot on the poll with a 7-0-0 record. Limestone sits at No. 4 and is followed by Bentley University in the No. 5 spot. Dowling College moved up one spot to No. 6 after an upset victory over the then ranked No. 5 NYIT Bears. NYIT dropped to 5-2 with this loss, and slipped two spots to No. 7.
