Singleton and Sischo Named All-Americans; Six Others Earn All-District Status

East Coast Conference men's basketball standouts Andrew Sischo of Daemen College and Grant Singleton of St. Thomas Aquinas have been named Division II All-Americans.  In addition, five student-athletes and one head coach were honored with All-District distinction.

Sischo, a three-time ECC Player of the Year, earned consensus All-America status for the second straight season after being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America team and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) First Team. Sischo led the ECC and ranks in the top-four in all of Division II with 26.7 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. He also ranks first in the nation with 12 double-doubles. Sischo also hit career milestones this season, becoming just the second-ever from the ECC to surpass both 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career. After leading Daemen to an East Region title, he heads into the Wildcats' Elite Eight appearance just 53 points shy of becoming the conference's all-time leader.

Singleton had a breakout season to earn a spot on the NABC All-America squad. He led the Spartans with 17.2 points per game and ranked among the ECC leaders with a 53.1 field goal percentage, a 1.9 assist to turnover ratio, and 1.6 steals per game. Singleton also earned the Most Outstanding Player honor in the ECC Championship after leading St. Thomas Aquinas to their fifth conference title in the past six seasons.

Sischo and Singleton also earned NABC All-District First Team honors and were joined by five others from the ECC. Daemen's Sean Fasoyiro and St. Thomas Aquinas' Osbel Caraballo and Demetre Roberts were First Team selections as well. Reggie Clark of Roberts Wesleyan and James Montgomery of Molloy also claimed spots on the Second Team.

In addition, St. Thomas Aquinas head coach, Tobin Anderson, was named the East Region Coach of the Year. Anderson led the Spartans to a 14-2 record that included ECC regular and tournament championships and the No. 1 seed in the NCAA East Regional.
