Indianapolis - The NCAA announced this afternoon that the St. Thomas Aquinas at Daemen basketball doubleheader on February 14 will be broadcast as part of the Division II Basketball Showcase.

Daemen will take place in the showcase for the second straight year, while St. Thomas Aquinas is back in the marquee broadcast for the second time in three seasons.

NCAA Division II announced 28 regular season men’s and women’s basketball games that will be highlighted on ESPN3 or NCAA social media as part of an effort to promote the division on several platforms throughout the academic year.

As part of the hybrid model, the games will be produced by NCAA partner, Niles Media Group, and stream on the NCAA Division II Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as on the ECC Network.  In addition, the games will also be simulcast on the East Coast Conference, Daemen, and St. Thomas Aquinas Facebook pages.

The doubleheader will feature teams expected to be near the top of the ECC standings. On the men's side, Daemen (17/10) and St. Thomas Aquinas (20/23) are currently ranked in both the NABC and D2SIDA Division II Top 25 polls.

Daemen is the reigning ECC Regular Season Champion and are coming off their first-ever NCAA Championship berth. St. Thomas Aquinas has won three of the past four ECC Championships and have advanced to the NCAA Championship four years in a row.

The women's teams have enjoyed nearly as much success as their male counterparts. STAC won its first-ever ECC Championship in 2018 and followed with an ECC Regular Season Championship and a second straight NCAA Championship appearance in 2019.

Daemen's women had their most successful season since transitioning to NCAA Division II a year ago. The Wildcats finished with a record of 18-10 and earned the No. 2 seed in the ECC Championship.

All four teams are off to hot starts to begin their 2019-20 campaigns. Daemen's men are 6-1, while the women are 3-1. Both Spartan squads have started the year with perfect 4-0 records.
