Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Department of Athletics announced a new partnership with News Talk 1230 AM (WFAS) of Cumulus Media. As a part of the deal, WFAS, based out of Westchester County, NY, will become the radio home for select Spartan Men's and Women's Basketball Home Games. The station will also air pre- and post-game shows, during the 2015-16 season.
As part of the agreement, St. Thomas Aquinas College Athletes and Coaches will be appearing on News Talk 1230 AM WFAS programming throughout the school year to promote their teams, their accomplishments, on and off the field, and upcoming games.
“We are thrilled to enter this important partnership with Cumulus Media and WFAS,” said St. Thomas Aquinas College Director of Athletics Gerry Oswald. “The promotional support for the college, our athletic department and our individual teams and athletes is invaluable. We are excited to be able to bring our Spartans fans and casual listeners in Rockland, Bergen and Westchester Counties high level NCAA Division II basketball contests with just the turn of the radio dial. This is just the start of what we hope is a long term relationship that will expand our media presence through broadcast opportunities across all of our 18 intercollegiate sports, here at the college."
Veteran play-by-play broadcaster Steve Balsan, color commentator Andrew Romanella and sideline reporter Kevin Roth will call all of the action for the 2015-16 season. The trio has been working together on the Spartan Basketball Internet broadcasts for the past 3 seasons.
