Reyes, Dyck, and Millender Earn D2CCA All-Region Recognition

Albany, N.Y. - East Coast Conference Player of the Year, Justin Reyes of St. Thomas Aquinas, and fellow All-ECC First Team picks, Torrence Dyck of Daemen and Chris Millender of Dowling, have been selected to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-East Region Team. Reyes is a First Team honoree, while Dyck and Millender earn a spot on the Second Team.

There was no sophomore slump for Reyes after winning the conference's Rookie of the Year honor in 2014-15, as his 2015-16 season saw him earn the ECC Player of the Year honor. Reyes was a double-double machine for St. Thomas Aquinas, scoring 17.4 points per game and pulling down 10.3 rebounds per game. He also led the ECC with a 61.2 field goal percentage and ranked in the top five with 56 steals and 44 blocks.

Dyck was the ECC's leading scorer in 2015-16, pouring in 21.9 points per game. Dyck, who scored in double figures in all but one game this season, ranked second in the ECC with 217 field goals made and third with 132 free throws made. He also pulled down 6.7 rebounds per game on the year.

Millender was right behind Dyck in the scoring department, ranking second in the ECC with 21.7 points per game.  Like Reyes, Millender also averaged a double-double on the year after leading the ECC with 11.3 rebounds per game. He also topped the conference with 222 field goals made on the year.

The 2015-16 D2CCA men’s basketball All-America team will be announced on Monday, March 21. The five first team members from each of the country’s eight regions are placed on the national ballot with NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors selecting first, second and third-team All-America honorees. The Ron Lenz Player of the Year will also be chosen from a list comprised of the eight Regional Players of the Year.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
