Indianapolis – C.W. Post and University
of the District of Columbia both remain in the final regular season
NCAA Regional Rankings. C.W. Post jumps three spots to No. 5 in the
poll, while UDC falls three spots to No. 6.
C.W. Post is coming off an 85-75 ECC Regular Season Championship
clinching victory over UDC in the season finale. The win moved the
Pioneers to 21-5 on the season and catapulted them three spots in
the latest rankings.
The loss ended an eight game winning streak for the Firebirds and
caused them to fall from the No. 3 spot in the rankings to No.
6.
Both schools received byes in the ECC Men’s Basketball
Championship and will be in action in the semifinals this weekend
at Queens College.
The Northeast 10 Conference leads the way with six representatives
in the poll including Franklin Pierce at No. 1. The Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference ties the ECC with two squads in the
poll.
This was the final regional rankings of the regular season, with
just the conference tournaments remaining. The top eight teams
(three conference tournament champions and five at-large berths) in
the final regional poll will earn bids to the Division II Women's
Basketball Tournament.
