Indianapolis – University of the District
of Columbia comes in at the No. 3 spot in this week’s NCAA
East Region Men’s Basketball poll, while C.W. Post moves up
two spots to No. 8.
The two teams atop the standings in the East Coast Conference
standings will meet this Saturday to determine the regular season
championship. C.W. Post comes into the regular season finale in
first place with a 14-1 conference record and a 20-5 overall mark.
UDC is right on the Pioneers heels, boasting a 13-2 mark in ECC
action, and a 22-3 record overall. Both squads have locked up
first round byes into the semifinals of the upcoming ECC
Men’s Basketball Championship.
The Northeast 10 Conference leads the way with six representatives
in the poll including Franklin Pierce at No. 1. The Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference ties the ECC with two squads in the
poll.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays through
February 29. The top eight teams (three conference tournament
champions and five at-large berths) in the final regional poll will
earn bids to the Division II Men's Basketball Tournament.
