Kansas City, Mo. – For the second time
this season, the University of the District of Columbia men’s
basketball team has graced the National Association of Basketball
Coaches Division II Top 25 poll. The Firebirds come in at No.
22 in this week’s rankings.
Five weeks after first entering the poll, also with a ranking of
No. 22, UDC is back on the heels of a five game winning streak.
During the hot stretch, the Firebirds have been dominant, defeating
their opponents by an average of 15.3 points per game. On the
season they hold a 19-3 record and currently sit in second place in
the East Coast Conference with a 10-2 mark in conference play.
C.W. Post, in first place in the conference with an 11-1 mark in
ECC action, was among the teams listed in the others receiving
votes category of the poll. The Pioneers, 17-5 on the year,
received five points to come in 17 points behind the No.25 squad,
Indianapolis.
