Schmidt, Stennis and Carter Named to NABC All-District Team

Kansas City, MO. - Jonathan Schmidt (C.W. Post) and Teairez Stennis (Bridgeport) were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II All-District First Team.  Nick Carter (C.W. Post) garnered Second Team Honors.

Schmidt has been unstoppable this season.  He led the Pioneers with 19 points per game while adding 6 assists per game.  The two-time East Coast Conference Player of the Year earned spots on both the ECC and NCAA Regional All-Tournament teams. 

Stennis topped the charts, leading the Purple Knights this season with 18.8 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game.  He was named to the ECC All-Conference First Team and guided Bridgeport to 21-9 overall finish.

Carter finished the season averaging 17.8 points per game and 5.6 boards per game.  The First Team All-Conference recipient was named the 2009 ECC Tournament MVP as well as the NCAA Regional Tournament MVP.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the NABC Division II All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 88 student-athletes, from eight districts, are now eligible for the State Farm Coaches' Division II All-America teams, selected by the NABC.
