ECC Adds Post University as Indoor Track & Field Associate Member

West Babylon, N.Y. - On Wednesday morning, East Coast Conference Commissioner, Dr. Robert Dranoff, announced that Post University, located in Waterbury, Conn., will join the conference as an associate member in the sports of men’s and women's indoor track and field. The Eagles will immediately be eligible for competition at the 2019 ECC Championships.

"We are pleased to welcome the Post University men's and women's teams to ECC Indoor Track and Field. Our current members join us in being pleased to give their student-athletes an opportunity to participate in our championship event," said Dranoff. "We look forward to having the Eagles help us keep growing this ECC championship sport."

The addition of Post brings the number of ECC Indoor Track and Field members to 10 for men and 11 on the women’s side. The Eagles become the third associate member from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) joining Georgian Court and Holy Family. Full-time ECC members that sponsor indoor men's and women's track & field include Daemen College, University of the District of Columbia, LIU Post, Molloy College, New York Institute of Technology, Queens College, Roberts Wesleyan College, and St Thomas Aquinas College.

"Post is excited about the opportunity to compete in the East Coast Conference in indoor track," said Post Athletic Director, Ronnie Palmer. "We appreciate the members of the ECC allowing us to become an Associate Member of their conference and assisting us with providing a tremendous student athlete experience in the sport. We look forward to being a contributive and vibrant member with our new colleagues of indoor track."

The ECC Indoor Track and Field Championships will once again return to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y., one of the premier indoor facilities in the nation, on February 16, 2019.
