ECC eSports Squads in Action With Look Towards First-Ever Conference Season

Earlier this year the East Coast Conference announced that they will host their first regular season in League of Legends beginning in February 2019, culminating in the first ECC championship hosted at NYIT on March 30.

Institutions that have committed to participate this year so far are Daemen, LIU Post, Mercy, Molloy, New York Institute of Technology, and St Thomas Aquinas.

But some of our schools' seasons are already off and running in 2018. Here are a few highlights:

St. Thomas Aquinas
The St. Thomas Aquinas College eSports team opens their 2018-2019 schedule on Saturday, October 13th with three Fortnite matches and League of Legends competition.

As part of the Collegiate Starleague Preseason series, they face off against fellow ECC member Daemen College in League of Legends at 1 p.m. and later compete against both SUNY Canton and Rochester Institute of Technology in Fortnite matches at 3 p.m.

Live streams of the matches are available at https://www.twitch.tv/stacspartanesports

As noted above, Daemen is competing in the Collegiate Star League and will play a few more League of Legends matches following their opener with STAC on Saturday. They are also competing in the American Video Game League (AVGL) this fall and have already started their season in Hearthstone as part of TESPA.
