Cumbo and Loeschorn Earn Consensus All-America Honors

East Coast Conference baseball standouts, EJ Cumbo of NYIT and Joshua Loeschorn of LIU Post, have been named All-Americans by three different publications (American Baseball Coaches Association, Division II Conference Commissioners Association, and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association).

Loeschorn leads the way with one First Team selection (ABCA) and a pair of Second Team honors (D2CCA, NCBWA).  Loeschorn put together a phenomenal rookie season with a stat line that includes a 10-0 record with three saves and a 1.34 earned run average over 80.2 innings pitched. The ECC Pitcher and Rookie of the Year ranks among the Division II national leaders, coming in second in ERA, sixth in hits allowed per nine innings (5.47) and first in WHIP (0.74).

Cumbo claimed one Third Team honor (ABCA) and a pair of Honorable Mention selections (D2CCA, NCBWA). The ECC Player of the Year was one of the top hitters in all of Division II this season, ranking second in the nation in batting average at .453 before the Bears played in the DII World Series. Cumbo added 13 doubles, seven homeruns, and 44 RBI on the season.

One other ECC student-athlete earned a spot on one of the three All-America lists. Mercy's John Mooradian was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the NCBWA. Mooradian finished second in the ECC with a .397 batting average and led the conference with 50 RBI on the year.
