Spartans Drop 21-2 Decision at Southern New Hampshire

Hookset, N.H. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team opened a four-game road trip by dropping a 21-2 decision to Southern New Hampshire University, in a non-conference matchup on Friday afternoon at Ouellette Stadium. 

STAC (0-4) was held to seven shots, eight ground balls, and seven draw controls on the day. Senior goalkeeper Colleen Stevens made 10 saves.

Junior McKenzie Schlechtweg tallied her fourth goal of the season in the second quarter, while freshman Arianna Tribble netted her second of the year, in the final minutes of the contest.

Angelina Graziano and Shelby Cole picked up five goals and three assists apiece for Southern New Hampshire (2-0), which led, 12-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Teammates Skylar Renaud, Katya Markovich, Rachel McLaughlin, Courtney Cronin and Madison Keating scored two goals each, while Alexis DeLucia put a shot of her own to the back of the cage.

Junior Hailey Galison and sophomore Katelyn Cerrato picked up two ground balls each for the Spartans.

STAC next returns to action on Tuesday, March 7 (4:00 p.m.) against Dominican University at the Torne Valley Sports Complex in Hillburn, N.Y.
