WATERBURY, Conn. – In their first road test of the young season, the D'Youville University women's soccer team fell to Post University by a score of 3-1 Sunday afternoon.
 
After battling a weather delay that pushed the start time of the game, the Saints (0-3-1) fell behind early in the contest with Post scoring in the eight minute of play. DYU had a chance soon after to tie the game but the shot by Hannah Woodhouse (Queensbury, N.Y.) but was turned away. Izzy Deachman (Nobleton, Ontario) also had an opportunity to get the Saints on the board just minutes later but was also turned away. The Eagles tacked one on late in the half to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
 
The Eagles grew the lead in the early going of the second half, scoring in the 48th minute to take a 3-0 lead. The Saints kept fighting, ripping off seven shots in the half to get on the board. Deachman had a good look at goal in the 61st minute but was turned away.
 
Continuing to put together a scoring play, Jeslyin-Brooke Vallesteros (Aiea, Hawaii) was able to find Deachman to put DYU on the board in the 82nd minute.
 
Kailie Regan (Holley, N.Y) went the distance in net, making four saves on seven attempts.

The Saints will open up conference action this Saturday, September 16th, as they host Mercy University for a 12 p.m. start time at Dobson Field.
