Spartans Stay Undefeated with 3-1 Triumph Over Saint Michael's

Sparkill, N.Y. - Playing under clear skies and without any delays, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer team remained undefeated on the year, downing Saint Michael's College 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field.

STAC improves to 2-0-2 on the season, while Saint Michael's slips to 1-2-1.

Kevon Evans picked up his team and ECC-leading fifth goal of the campaign, while Nicholas Sadorf and Jalen Moni also tallied goals in the match.

How It Happened

11th Minute: On a free kick by the Spartans Joshua Ashie, Saint Michael's keeper Max Koons failed to punch out the opportunity, allowing for the ball to find the foot of Nicholas Sadorf, who would fire a shot to the back of the net to make it 1-0 STAC.

14th Minute: A penalty kick would be awarded to St. Thomas Aquinas as a result of a foul in the penalty area. On the attempt, Kevon Evans would fire a low shot to the right corner of the net that would be stopped by Max Koons to keep the match 1-0.

16th Minute: A through ball up the middle of the field by Kevon Evans would make it to teammate Jalen Moni who would rifle an shot on frame, beating Koons to give the maroon and gold a 2-0 advantage.

53rd Minute: Saint Michael's would finally find their way onto the scoreboard, via a Alvaro Macias-Cazorla header past STAC keeper Calle Gunnarsson to make it 2-1. An assist was credited to teammate Xolo Miralles on the cross-field pass.

76th Minute: The insurance marker would come via Kevon Evans off of a STAC throw-in by Alejandro Zuniga, which would find the foot of Evans and he would fire a shot to the left post, past keeper Liam Barrett to put the Spartans on-top 3-1.
