ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's women's lacrosse team fell to Roberts Wesleyan 2-20, Saturday afternoon. The Firebirds fell to 0-4 in conference play while the Redhawks improved to 2-1.
Jada Williams scored both of the Firebirds goals and won a team-high five draw controls. Desiree Gaeckler forced a team-high two caused turnovers and Destiny Ryles picked up a team-high two ground balls while forcing a turnover.
Williams scored the first goal of the game off of a free position shot, less than two minutes into the first quarter. The Redhawks went on to score the next 18 goals before Williams, scored the first goal of the fourth quarter to cut their streak.
The Firebirds struggled to clear the ball going 6-19 and was outshot by the Redhawks 8-38.
