West Chester, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team continued its impressive start to the 2023-24 season on Tuesday by shutting out West Chester University of Pennsylvania, 7-0 at the WCU Tennis Courts.
The Spartans claimed the doubles point via a sweep, as Viktoriia Pavlovets & Giovanna Jallas defeated Ellie Perrin & Yuno Oe, 6-1, followed by Ebba Rosberg & Samanta Villegas Robles besting Ashleigh Grooms & Delaney Tingle, 6-1 and then Jemima Parkinson & Elita Silins downing Gabriella Lerario dos Santos & Sohana Thompson, 6-4.
Kateryna Kryuchkova was the first winner in singles, claiming her match 6-0, 6-0. Amanda Kadiri next won at No. 5 singles by the score of 6-1, 6-1 to give STAC the 3-0 advantage. The Spartans picked up a win at No. 4 singles, as Elita Silins earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory to clinch the match. Ebba Rosberg (6-4, 6-3), Elise Semmartin (6-1, 6-2) and Samanta Villegas Robles (6-1, 6-4) also earned wins for St. Thomas Aquinas.
Ebba Rosberg, Samanta Villegas Robles and Elita Silins all went 2-0 on the day, winning both their doubles and singles matches.

Samanta Villegas Robles will compete at the ITA Cup October 12-16 in Rome, Ga. Ebba was crowned ITA East Region Singles Champions back in mid-September, after cruising through her bracket at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Rosberg and Villegas Robles were the ITA Doubles runner-up duo at the East Regional.
The entire team will next be in action on Wednesday, October 18 (3:00 p.m.), hosting Post University at the Riley Family Tennis Courts.
