Noel, Baitiche and Lago Pujol All Net Their First Goals As A Wildcat

AMHERST, N.Y. – The Daemen University men's soccer team evened its East Coast Conference record to 1-1-0 following a 3-1 victory over the College of Staten Island today at Karrer Field. The win improved the Wildcats to 2-4-1 overall. It marked the ECC opener for the visiting Dolphins, who dropped to 2-3-1 overall.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The match remained scoreless until the 27th minute when the hosts opened the scoring following an unassisted goal by junior transfer Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas).

  • The hosts regained the lead just 11 minutes into the second half. A cross by sophomore Sujan Rajamohan (Spencerport, N.Y.) found the foot of junior transfer Rayane Baitiche (Thionville, France) and he sent it into the upper right corner from 20 yards out.
  • Daemen played the final 31:44 up a man after a CSI player from given a red card, and the hosts eventually secured the win after junior transfer Bruno Lago Pujol (Barcelona, Spain) scored off a pretty pass from freshman Fabrizzio Jaramillo (Lynwood, Calif.) with just under seven minutes to play.
  • The Dolphins outshot the Wildcats 10-5 in the first half and the visitors finished with a 14-9  edge in total shots--but Daemen owned a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. The visitors posted a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
