Firebirds Fall to Holy Family in Season Opener

PHILADELPHIA, PA- The University of the District of Columbia's women's lacrosse team fell to Holy Family University in their season opener, Monday afternoon at the New Tiger Field. The Firebirds fell to 0-1 on the season, while the Tigers improved to 1-0.

Freshman goalkeeper, Natalia Perkins had a game-high 15 saves and a team high four groundballs. Teammate Alejandra Lainez-Rodriguez also had four ground balls and won a draw control. Desiree Gaeckler had a team-high two caused turnovers, Michelle Mitchell had the Firebirds only shot on goal of the day and Jada Williams won a team-high four draw controls.

UDC (0-1) is back in action on Thursday as they head to N.Y. to take on Alliance University, with a tip-off time of 2:00 PM.
