Firebirds Bested by Warriors

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA- The University of the District of Columbia's men's soccer team fell to East Stroudsburg University 0-2, Wednesday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The Firebirds fell to 3-5-3 on the season while the Warriors remained undefeated at 5-0-4.

Bronson Shepherd made a game high five saves, while allowing two goals. Axel Gamez and Eduardo Bugay had the Firebirds only two shots on goal. The Warriors had 18 shots while holding UDC to just nine. The home team also had the slight advanatge in corner kicks 5-3. 

After 38 minutes of scoreless play, East Stroudsburg registered their first of two goals on the day. The second goal came early in the second half leaving the Firebirds down by two with about 30 minutes of play left to go. Despite the Firebirds efforts they couldn't get one past the ESU goalkeeper as he made two saves on the day to pick up up a shutout.

Next up, UDC (3-5-3, 1-1-2 ECC) will host conference foe Queens College on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
