BUFFALO – Starting the 2023 campaign, the D'Youville University men's soccer dropped their season opener against the University of Findlay 5-0 Thursday afternoon at Dobson Field.
 
The Saints (0-1) had an opportunity to get on the board early in the contest as freshman forward Finn Savage ripped off two shots. Savage's first shot came by a free kick that was deflected off the Oilers' defender. Savage quickly got the ball back and got a shot off that just went wide right.
 
Sophomore Aaron Baffour also had an opportunity to get one on the board in the 16th minute, but his shot attempt was saved.
 
UF got on the board in the 20th minute and later in the 33rd minute to take the 2-0 lead at the break.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Jake Marks went the distance in net, making eight saves on 13 attempts.
 
DYU will be back in action this Saturday, September 2nd, as they travel to Pitt-Johnstown for a 12 p.m. start.
