Women's Hoops Limits Goldey-Beacom To Only 16 Second Half Points On Its Way To A 61-43 Home Win
Freshman Gracen Kerr Led UB With 19 Points On The Night
Bridgeport, Conn.-The host University of Bridgeport women's basketball team limited the visiting Goldey-Beacom College Lightning to only 16 total points in the second half (six in the third quarter and 10 in the final stanza), as UB topped GBC, 61-43, in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening in Hubbell Gym. With the victory, the Purple Knights are now 2-6 on the season. Goldey-Beacom remains winless at 0-5.
Freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.) led Bridgeport with 19 points, and she also grabbed four rebounds and added three assists.
Kerr was joined in double figures by junior Alyzae Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) with 11 points and junior Samirah Henderson (Rahway, N.J.) chipped in 10 points and had five assists. Davis also had five rebounds and two helpers for the winners.
Junior Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Ga.) led the Purple Knights on the glass grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Felton also blocked two shots in the game.
Bridgeport dominated the contest on the backboards outrebounding the Lightning, 54-37.
Sarah Round led Goldey-Beacom with 12 points on the night.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team will continue its four-game homestand on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., when the Purple Knights host Pace University.
