Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team wrapped up its four-match road trip on Saturday afternoon, facing off with Molloy University at Quealy Gymnasium on Long Island. A game Lions team swept a young Spartans squad, three matches to none.
STAC slips to 3-13 overall and 1-7 within the ECC, while Molloy improves to 10-12 and 6-3

How it Happened
- The Spartans led for the first quarter of the first set. Trailing 9-8, Molloy would take the next four points on two kills, an ace and a block to take a 12-9 lead.
- STAC would come within one on two occasions in the remainder of the set, but hosts held onto their advantage.
- The maroon and gold would once again take a lead to start the second set, leading by as much as 12-8.
- Three separate three-point streaks from Molloy would give the Lions a 21-19 edge that would last through the remainder of the second set.
- Molloy opened the third set on an 8-0 run with three kills, two blocks and three aces.
- A six-point run brought St. Thomas Aquinas brought within three, 10-7, but that would be as close as they would come in the effort.
Inside the Box Score
- Junior right side Jaizahir Marrero-George finished with 11 kills and eight errors on 34 attacks. The Carolina, Puerto Rico native also added eight digs, a service ace and a block assist to her stat line on the afternoon.
- Freshman middle blocker Lorielys Ruiz totaled eight kills and five digs in the match.
- Freshman outside hitter Alana Rider finished with seven kills and four errors on 20 attacks.
- Junior setter Lea Venghaus tallied 24 assists (8.0 assists/set), two service aces and nine digs (3.0 digs/set).
- Junior libero/defensive specialist Aurivette Santos Bonilla recorded team-highs in service aces (4) and digs (10).
